my friends Courtney, Shira, and I miss each other. Shira’s making it big in LA, Courtney’s at grad school in Indiana, and I’m holding down the fort in Madison. This winter, while going through Courtney’s purse (it was heavy and demanded investigating) at the Plaza, we discovered a purple tub of Playdoh. Now, you may be scratching your head and asking yourself what a childless graduate student is doing with a tub of Playdoh in a bar. My only answer to this is: it’s Courtney (refer to this doozy about the things I found while cleaning her apt). So, Shira came up with the idea of taking Mr. P (as which he’s so creatively referred) wherever we go, then sending him to each other every few weeks or whenever we have an exciting journey that Mr. P shouldn’t miss.
I was the first guardian of Mr. P and as any mature mother would do, I took him with me to LA, had Shira shape him into a mammoth and set him dangerously close to falling in the La Brea Tar Pits. He’s now residing with Shira, frolicking along on her celeb sightings and adventures as she settles into her new home.
I know we’re 24/25 now but this is the greatest idea we’ve had in a long time.
