we visited this cemetery again on my bday. it sits in a clearing in the middle of the woods and is only accessible by driving up a windy, bumpy, muddy road carved into the land for this sole purpose. it gets really buggy here and there are no paths through the gravestones, often you trip and look down to find a tiny stone buried beneath thick grass. it sometimes makes me wonder why people buried their loved ones here only to be seemingly forgotten. i can’t decide whether i visit this cemetery because it’s a stunning discovery in the woods or to show the people buried beneath the grass that they were never forgotten after all.
